Man arrested for selling wife for human sacrifice

Wonders never cease to  happen..A man has been arrested for selling his wife to black magic practitioners who wanted to sacrifice a virgin, police said Thursday.

The deal in the central Nigerian state of Plateau was cancelled at the last minute, however, when the ritualists realised she was married.
“The man lured his wife to a bush under the pretext of fetching firewood and sold her to two ritualists for 800,000 naira (about $5,000), Plateau state police spokesman Abuh Emmanuel told AFP.
He said the man from Kwalla town lied to the ritualists that the woman was a virgin and had been given part of the money.

Ghanaian Pastor accuses T.B Joshua of sacrificing human lives

Following the tragedy that befell the Synagogue Church of all Nation last Friday, a Ghanaian Pastor, Isaac Owusu Bempah of Glorious Word Ministry International (GWMI) has accused Prophet T.B Joshua of human sacrifice.

While speaking on Okay FM, hours ago, the Ghanaian Pastor said ‘These are evil hands at work because I know people who have to make human sacrifices in order to be promoted in the spiritual realm. I know some people will vilify me for making this known”.

He also accused the SCOAN prophet of coming to Ghana some time ago and causing the death of four people during a programme he held.

“Look at what is happening to him. You came for a programme in Ghana and that led to the death of four people. You also woke up one day and a whole building collapsed, killing over forty people”, he added.

Missing Air Force fighter jet found crashed in Adamawa

Strong indications emerged in Adamawa State on Sunday that the Nigerian Air Force Alpha Fighter Jet that was reported missing on Friday had been discovered.

Sources close to the Air Force Base in Yola confirmed that the crashed Jet had been located in Lala in Gombi Local Government Area of the state.

Daily Independent gathered that the Alpha Jet (NAF 466) which participated in the counter- insurgency operation against the Boko Haram went off radar since Friday, but was said have been discovered through the help of some villagers in Lala of Gombi Local Government Area.

It is no longer news that Gabriel Amanyi, a.k.a Terry G, has been described as one of the world’s ‘weirdest’ singers. What is news – a big one at that – is that he has finally overcome his addiction to hard drugs, especially Indian hemp and cocaine.

The artiste made this known in an online interview with our correspondent. Recalling his long and bitter struggle against drug addiction, he says, “I will say that it is not an easy thing to quit such a dangerous habit. What I did was to avoid contact with all those who introduced me to the it.”

Earlier, he had caused a stir in the entertainment circles when, in a moment of desperation, he fingered a popular Nollywood actress as one of those who introduced him to hard drugs. Now that he is free from the clutches of addiction, he is no longer eager to keep their friendship going.

“Nowadays I try to avoid her. We are no longer as close as we used to be. The only thing that is constant is change and I am a changed man now,” he says.

This very popular singer, who also doubles as a producer, single-handedly evolved a new music style that caught on like wild fire among music fans and has remained quite successful till date.

Newborn baby found in toilet pipe after student gives birth and runs

 

A young student in a university in China, who hid her pregnancy throughout, gave birth to a baby girl inside a toilet pipe, hoping the baby would flush down the pipe. Fortunately the pipe wasn't wide enough to take the baby down and so her body became wedged a short way down the pipe. The baby immediately started crying and the new mum fled. Fortunately, the baby's cries was loud enough to attract the attention of other students who immediately raised an alarm.

Synagogue Church release statement on building collapse, says it was an attack

The Synagogue Church of all Nations has released an official statement via their Facebook page on the building collapse within their premises on Friday September 12th which has so far claimed over 77 lives. They say it was an attack on the church and in particular, their leader, T.B Joshua and have vowed to reveal the persons behind it. Over 30 People Killed In Latest Kano Bomb Blast

Over 30 have been reportedly killed while others ran hellter-skelter in Sabon Gari, Kano, northwest Nigeria as a twin-bomb exploded at Igbo Road/Enugu Road and on New Road, opposite Ado Bayero Square.

Security agencies confirmed the incident but said they were still gathering details at the time of filling this report.

The first blast occurred at 9:12 p.m. at Enugu/Igbo Road near International Hotel, while the second blast followed three minutes later, at exactly 9:15 P.M.

Synagogue building collapse: 45yr old woman walks out of rubble alive

A 45-year-old-woman today Tuesday September 16th allegedly walked out alive from the rubbles of the collapsed building at the Synagogue Church of All Nations in Ikotun, Lagos.

Ibrahim Farinloye, the PRO of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, South-West Zone, told journalists in Lagos that the woman walked out on her own at 2a.m very early today but the woman was not identified.

"A woman of about 45 years old walked out of the rubble on her own around 2a.m today. She was able to walk away from the collapse with just a broken wrist. 10 more bodies were recovered, leaving 59 dead and 131 rescued alive,“ Farinloye said.

So far 59 bodies have been recovered and Farinloye expect rescue workers to recover more bodies.

NUT ask teachers to ignore September 22nd resumption date

Minister of Health has said there's no single confirmed case of Ebola in Nigeria currently and it's safe for primary and secondary schools to resume but the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, is not convinced. Today September 16th, NUT directed its members to ignore the Sept. 22nd resumption date of schools in Nigeria.

Teenager arrested for stimulating Oral sex with Jesus Statue(Photo)

A 14-year old is facing prison time after hopping in front of a Jesus statue in front of an organization called “Love in the Name of Christ”, and simulating oral sex .The unnamed teen then posted the picture to Facebook which caught the attention of others before finding its way to authorities.

According to Mother Jones, officials have charged him with desecration of a venerated object which according to a 1972 Pennsylvania statute criminalizes “defacing, damaging, polluting or otherwise physically mistreating in a way that the actor knows will outrage the sensibilities of persons likely to observe or discover the action.” and the he might be facing up to 2 years in juvenile detention.

Generator fumes kill man, wife & 3 children in Ikorodu..see photos

Generator fumes has killed a man, his wife and all his 3 children in Ipoyewa community of Ikorodu, Lagos. The bodies of the family was discovered by neighbours last Friday September 12th in their home. All five suffocated to death after inhaling fumes from a generator which they'd kept in their room. According to neighbours, the man bought the generator just two days before the unfortunate incident and was afraid it will be stolen if left outside so he kept it inside his 2-room apartment.
 
When the family failed to come out late Friday morning, a neighbour peeped through their window, saw bodies, and alerted others. They broke down the door to discover the horror. And when I say horror, I mean horror. The photos are really graphic so please be warned.

Residents of the community are blaming the family's deaths on lack of power in the area. They claim the last time they had light was 3 years ago, that every house in the area uses a generator. They said they have called on the government many times to help them with light but their efforts have yielded no fruit. See the pics after the cut.. *warning - graphic content*

The man you see in this pic is being accused of sexually molesting his own 5 year old daughter (pictured right). This happened in the Italuwo community in Ikorodu Road, Lagos. I don't have much details but according to a source, a neighbour suspected the man was assaulting the little girl and alerted people in the area. When confronted, he denied it but the girl confirmed she'd been molested. He was beaten and taken to the community security post. This pic was taken as he was being interrogated. Details later...
