Abuja-Based Politician Wanted By Police After 10 Golf Cars Are DIscovered In His Possession

A politician (names withheld) in Karu Area of Abuja is now on the run after police detectives discovered 10 Golf cars in his possession, Daily Newswatch reports.

According to the source, the 10 Golf cars were parked in the politician’s compound in Karu, which is a town after Nyanya, where major terrorists attacks were carried out in April and May 2014.

The FCT police commissioner, Mr. Mbu T. Mbu, while speaking with newsmen said: “We have 10 Golf vehicles bought by a politician. When we got the report, we waited for him; he is on the run now. We have recovered the Golf vehicles; the politician is from Borno State; only God knows what he wants to do with them.”

He urged Abuja residents to be vigilant and be more security conscious. He encouraged the residents to call Police hot lines or his direct line 09032424747 to report suspicious movements.

63 Abducted Women Escape from Boko Haram’s Den

About 63 out of about 70 women abducted in Borno State by suspected Boko Haram gunmen have reportedly escaped from their captors. According to Premium Times, the women managed to regain their freedom as their captors mobilised out of their hideout to attack military and police formations in Damboa Local Government Area, Borno State, on Friday night and Saturday morning, according to security sources. “I have just received an alert from my colleagues in Damboa area that about 63 of the abducted women and girls had made it back home. They took the bold step when their abductors moved out to carry out an operation”, said Abbas Gava, an official of the #Borno state vigilante group. “We don’t have the details of their escape yet, but we believe God gave them the opportunity at the time the insurgents came in their large numbers to attack Damboa where about 12 soldiers, five policemen, over 50 Boko Haram members and unspecified number of civilians were killed yesterday (Saturday).” Mr. Gava said about five women and two girls still remain under captivity. One of the women is said to be a nursing mother A top security officer in Maiduguri, who asked not to be named, confirmed the escape saying, “there is no doubt about your report; the women and girls were able to escape,” said the source. “I guess it was during the time the gunmen were attacking Damboa; left behind just some few men to watch over the women, but the women took advantage of an opportunity when the guys were dozing off, and bolted away but quietly.

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Tolani Ajayi, 21, for allegedly killing his father, Mr. Charles Ajayi(SAN), at the Redemption Camp, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in the early hours of July 3. A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in the command, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Sunday said the body of Ajayi, 60,was recovered in a bush at Canaan Land Street, RCCG Camp, in a box where the body was kept after the Senior Advocate of Nigeria was killed by his son. The suspect, said to be a 300-Level student of the Department of History and International Relations of Redeemer University, located at the Redemption Camp, Mowe in Ogun State, was picked up by the police in his late father’s residence at about 5.30pm on Thursday after what the police described as preliminary findings. The command’s statement read in part, “The DPO, Redemption Camp, SP Olaiya Martins, had led a team of detectives and some members of the community, who noticed the strange attitude of the suspect while dumping a box, to the point, where the body of the late SAN was dumped. “They thereafter traced the ground marks of the dragged box from where the suspect dumped the dad’s corpse to the house of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria,where they met the suspect in a relaxed mood. Upon interrogation, the suspect earlier lied that his dad had gone on evangelism before he eventually confessed to the crime when he was taken to the Redemption Camp Divisional Headquarters. “He stated further that the problem arose when his father confronted him for not responding to all the prayer points he(the deceased) was calling, claiming that the father slapped him. He said he went ‘mad’ and picked up a knife from the kitchen to stab him(father) and later a cutlass to cut his throat.”

yestday sunday 6th of july, An Okada rider and his 2 male passengers were crushed to death this afternoon at Awoyaya bus-stop along the Lekki-Epe Express way in Lagos as they were being chased by a police van. While trying to escape from the police who were chasing them to seize their bike for riding on the express, the Okada, which was in high speed, collided with a BRT bus that crushed them to death. Mom mixes an entire box of rat poison into daughters’ smoothies

ODD… A 32-year-old woman and mother of two is facing a two-count charge of attempted murder after she tried to poison her 8 and 11-year-old daughters’ smoothies with an entire box of rat poison. Maria Alvarado-Gomez reportedly told investigators via an interpreter that she “would rather the children be dead than alive in Mexico,” where she said the girls’ father wanted to take them. alvarado-gomez Via AP Court documents indicate the poisoning took place Monday morning but was not reported until the next day when Alvarado-Gomez was at a regular doctor’s appointment complaining of trouble sleeping. The girls, ages 8 and 11, were taken to a hospital and later released. Alvarado-Gomez told investigators “she did not want to suffer anymore and she did not want her children to suffer anymore,” according to her arrest affidavit. The girls’ father, Martin Luciano- Gonzalez, 46, consented to a search of the home, and he told police Alvarado-Gomez was getting counseling. The search turned up an empty container of rat poison containing brodifacoum, which impairs blood clotting by blocking vitamin K and can cause internal bleeding, according to the affidavit. Symptoms of brodifacoum poisoning usually take a couple of days to become apparent, and the most common treatment is administration of vitamin K. Milk, strawberries, sugar and ice cream failed to mask the taste of the poison, and when the children complained, Alvarado-Gomez told them she had put vitamins in the smoothies, according to the affidavit.
