Amaraizu added that “Vineyard Ministry of the Holy Trinity, located at Umudikwere, Ihe/Owere Nsukka in Enugu was not known until DSP Gloria Udoka and her operatives from the Anti Child Trafficking unit of the state criminal and investigation department, stormed the place based on the complaint they received from wife of the Pastor, Veronica Ngwu, bordering on sexual abuse of people in the ministry, which has brought about indiscriminate pregnancy among married and single women in the ministry. “According to Veronica, her husband used to be a well known catechist in Nsukka Catholic”. It was further disclosed that while acting under the same alleged will of God, the Pastor got his wife’s niece pregnant. “Some of the members’ wives are now living with him after he impregnated all of them”, the statement added. Reacting to the allegations against him, the General Overseer stated that he has about five wives with thirteen children, apart from other concubines, who came as a result of the prophetic will of God. Pandemonium took over the popular Kubwa-Zuba expressway yesterday, when angry natives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) staged a protest on the ever busy expressway following the death of a woman and her son during the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) demolition of Aluguyi Village, popularly known as Lungu Village in the FCT. The protesters who started the protest at about 12 noon, barricaded the expressway with burning tyres and bricks, protesting over the lives that were lost during what they described as unannounced and inhuman demolition of the community by the officials of the FCDA. According to a witness, Mr Joshua Iyah, officials of the FCDA in company of well armed military personnel stormed the.... community at about 10am, and started demolishing houses along with their belongings, not minding if people were inside or not. “During the demolition, a primary school boy came home from school tired and hungry, not understanding what was going on, he entered their house to change from his school uniform and as he was still inside the house, that was when the bulldozer demolishing their house and blocks fell on the boy. “Attempts to rescue the boy were not successful because the military and policemen were using whips against us. They even prevented his mother from rescuing him. The boy died immediately. When the mother of the boy saw what happened to her child, she took a broken bottle and stabbed herself to death”

BREAST CANCER. 1. Avoid becoming overweight. Obesity raises the risk of breast cancer after menopause, the time of life when breast cancer most often occurs. Avoid gaining weight over time, and try to maintain a body-mass index under 25 (calculators can be found online). 2. Eat healthy to avoid tipping the scale. Embrace a diet high in vegetables and fruit and low in sugared drinks, refined carbohydrates and fatty foods. Eat lean protein such as fish or chicken breast and eat red meat in moderation, if at all. Eat whole grains. Choose vegetable oils over animal fats. 3. Keep physically active. Research suggests that increased physical activity, even when begun later in life, reduces overall breast-cancer risk by about 10 percent to 30 percent. All it takes is moderate exercise like a 30-minute walk five days a week to get this protective effect. 4. Drink little or no alcohol. Alcohol use is associated with an increased risk of breast cancer. Women should limit intake to no more than one drink per day, regardless of the type of alcohol. Avoid hormone replacement therapy. Menopausal hormone therapy increases risk for breast cancer. Get regular breast cancer screenings. Follow your doctor or health care provider’s recommendations to decide what type of screening you need and how often you need it. If you are at high risk for breast cancer, such as having a particular gene like a BRCA gene, or have a strong family history or have had high-risk benign breast disease in the past, talk with your doctor about other options for you which might include: A. Extra screenings. For some women, MRI or ultrasound screenings can add valuable information to regular mammogram screening. B. Estrogen-blocking drugs. Women with a family history of breast cancer or who are over age 60 should talk to their doctor about the pros and cons of estrogen-blocking drugs such as tamoxifen, raloxifene, and aromatase inhibitors. C. Prophylactic surgery to remove breasts and/or ovaries. Women who have had both breasts surgically removed reduce their risk of breast cancer by over 90 percent. Women who have had both ovaries removed have about half the risk of developing breast cancer as women with intact ovaries. Clearly these options are most appropriate for women at very high risk.

Nigerian female robber says she acts as decoy during operations

“It was my boy friend that introduced me to the gang,”. ———————————— Serifat Bakare, a 24-year-old female robbery suspect who was arrested alongside her gang members by the Ogun State Police Command, has confessed her role in robbery operations across South-West Nigeria. She told PREMIUM TIMES, Wednesday, while being detained at Special Anti-Robbery Squad located along Presidential Boulevard, Abeokuta, that she was being used as a decoy for operations by the gang. “I am here because I was part of a robbery gang. It was my boy friend that introduced me to the gang, he followed us to the operation but he was not lucky, he was killed,” she said. The suspect, who said she was a commercial sex worker at Kuramo beach in Lagos before she joined the robbery gang, told PREMIUM TIMES that her boyfriend had been shot dead during a gun duel with the police after the gang’s robbery operations in Sango town of the state. “I met my boy friend in Adeniji phase II. Before we met, I was into prostitution at Kuramo beach, I don’t operate in Obalende because of familiar faces but I operate in small Kuramo in Lekki phase II. “Every day, I realised like N5,000 as a prostitute and it was from the same money I took care of my parents. It wasn’t as if the money was not enough but my boyfriend asked me to stop the business that he will be taking care of my needs”. The woman said the operation which led to her arrest was her second outing with the gang. “This is my second operation, it was Luqman (her boyfriend) that called me for the operation. Initially I didn’t know they were going for robbery, I was tricked into it, because I was told we were going to sell a car that was earlier stolen and I was commissioned to seat in front of the car so that people will not suspect us,” she revealed. Ms. Bakare said that on the first operation she participated in, the gang was to go and rob a man of N70 million in Sango, Ogun Stat. The operation failed, so they decided to snatch a car on Ibadan-Ife expressway. She said in a bid to get sophisticated guns for robbery operations, she had to sell her gold chain. The rest of her all male gang, Ms. Bakare said, assured her of safety. “Members of the group informed me…that nothing will happen because I was also to act as a decoy so that the police will not suspect the vehicle,” she said. On Monday, what began as a seed hope four years ago culminated in the delievery of a bouncing baby girl. Mrs. Irurhe becomes the oldest IVF mother in Africa. The global recognition for oldest IVF delivery goes to Rajo Deri Lohan, an Indian who in 2008 was delivered of a baby at 69 years. The IVF Unit at St. Ives Hospital successfully aided the conception and delivery of the baby and has now equaled the United Kingdom’s record of IVF age delivery. “I believe we should not limit God and what the doctors can do in this modern age. I believe this is the appointed time. I was very hopeful throughout the years I was childless and I remained focused on God. We went to many hospitals but we didn’t give up,” she said.

BOKO HARAM ATTACKS VEIWING CENTRE
