Opinion: Buhari set up the Kaduna assassination attempt

In what looks like a move to turn the table and reposition the blame game the storyline has repeated itself , General Muhammed Buhari has also played the “accused and victim” game

The game of political simulations and rehearsals taking place ahead of the general elections in 2015 can best be described as a poorly written Hollywood script. In recent times the two main opposition parties involved in the struggle for dominance of the political sphere, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have engaged themselves in a bitter rivalry in what could be likened to the famous “Tom and Jerry” cartoon.

We are at a very delicate stage as a nation whose general elections have some few months to come and worst of all features political gladiators whose only interest is the sit of power and not the welfare of its citizens .

On the event of 23 July 2014 in which a twin bomblast rocked the vibrant city of Kaduna with many scores of dead victims, in which a second attack was allegedly targeted at the nations foremost opposition figure, Gen Muhammed Buhari and alleged to be an “attempted assassination”, one could only conclude that the accused is now also a victim.

Before now many Nigerians have been of the opinion that the targeted General has a hand in the sponsorship of the radical Islamic sect, of which a few outspoken statement have made direct accusation on the General, which he had vehemently denied but after the formation of the APC , the party also came under the same accusation of sponsorship of this menace. These questions come to mind ….why would Bokoharam want Buhari dead, why are most states under the control of APC under the imminent threat of Bokoharam ? Even in the South why do we have only states controlled by the APC under the list of terror panic, eg Lagos, Osun, Imo and maybe Rivers. Could it be a transferable virus?…

Boko Haram in what seems to be a campaign ahead of 2015, has intensified its terror activities and had previously made a call to the president to quit office, while carrying out its activities with intentions to make the government unpopular and we all remember that Buhari has made a promise to end Boko Haram with 100 days in office. With the massive bombardment and increase in its terror activity and the perceived sympathy of the APC to the resultant effect of its activities …..”making the government unpopular”, one can only ascertain that the APC and Bokoharam agree on a common term. It is for this reason that the masses have come to a conclusion that “Boko Haram maybe an armed wing of the APC” this was confirmed by Femi Fani Kayode who was once an active and outspoken member of the opposition.

The game of accusations and forming the victim is one popular movie script that had persistently played out over and over again on the height of accusations and any investigation in order to exonerate oneself from the subject matter. This is a script that was once adopted by Stella Oduah, a former a aviation minister who championed the revolution that transformed our airports into beautiful havens, during the heights of investigation into the purchase of bulletproof cars, She adopted the Nollywood approach and acted a mind blowing movie which allegedly saw her got shot at, just to prove justification for the need of those cars.

Dino Melaye, in what looks like a poorly rehearsed script, also played the victim of his own assassination, afterall someone was after him maybe because of his fanatic discipleship to the fight against corruption a fight he was complacent to during his stay in the House of Rep, Dino also accused the Government of trying to eliminate him, well I guess he is out of the list now, since he can openly join the #Bringbackourgirls protest without fear, least I forget he is also a good husband, married to two wives and still single, I think he needs to #Bringbackourwives,

In what looks like a move to turn the table and reposition the blame game the storyline has repeated itself , General Muhammed Buhari has also played the “accused and victim” game, this is evident in Rotimi Fashakin’s statement that a political Bokoharam was behind the Wednesday attack on the people’s general, who once made perfidious statement about making the country ungovernable which led to the suspicion about his sympathy and sponsorship of the dreaded sect. To say that these whole event is coming up on the heels of suspicion and allegations from the international community that the APC has a link to Bokoharam and also coming just two days after the General issued a statement warning the president of an attempt to muscle the opposition and endanger Nigeria. If this is indeed an attempt to bring President and indeed the entire PDP into scrutiny of an attempt on General Buhari’s life due to his warning, then again we are far from the reality of desperation of our politicians to put themselves on the spotlight and even go as far as endangering their own lives in order to secure our collective sympathy and hence our votes.

As events towards 2015 continue to unfold we the people should be weary of the devices of political propaganda and already simulated and well planned scripts written to get our attention. Rest in Peace to the victims of the Kaduna bomblast whose blood was used as an ink in which these movie scripts have been written.
