Pastor Tunde Bakare says FG should apologise to Boko Haram | Read his reason

Convener and Pastor of Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare has advised the Federal Government to apologise to Islamic terrorist sect, Boko Haram over the 2009 killing of their leader, Mohammed Yusuf. It doesn’t appear he was kidding.

Bakare, who was a Vice-Presidential candidate in the 2011 Presidential Elections, says until Boko Haram gets an apology, terrorism will most likely persist in the country.

He said this while speaking during a state of the nation address at a Latter Rain Assembly church service on Sunday, 27 July.

He said, “The summary execution of the Boko Haram’s former leader, Mohammed Yusuf in 2009 provided the soil of martyrdom for the nurture and growth of the sect. Government must declare peace first of all; apologising for the murder of Mohammed Yusuf to the sect members not their sympathisers or bandits.”

He also added that last week’s attempt on Gen. Buhari’s life would have thrown the country into chaos had it succeeded.

“But for the timely intervention of God, last week’s assassination attempt on General Muhamadu Buhari might have marked the beginning of the end for Nigeria if it had succeeded,” he said. “We will not also ignore the fact that at the root of the escalation of the Boko Haram crisis was oppression and injustice”
