Suspected Ebola cases in Ghana test negative

ebola Ghanaian authorities said they are establishing three Ebola isolation centres for the management of victims just as all the tests done on the 37 suspected cases of the virus have returned negative. Ghanaian’s minister of health, Dr. Kweku Agyemang Mensah said in Accra yesterday that the isolation centres will be completed in a fortnight. The Ghana Health Service (GHS) yesterday said tests results of all four suspected Ebola cases returned negative. The health minister said the isolation centres will be installed with technical and personal protection equipment in the event there was an outbreak of the disease in the country. The Director of the Disease Surveillance Unit of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Badu Sarkodie said that the way the Ghana Health Service handled the suspected cases of Ebola was ample proof of the preparedness of the nation’s health system to deal with an outbreak of the disease.
