Joan Rivers condition still serious after comedienne is put on 'life support'

The 81-year-old is in a 'serious condition' in a New York hospital

Well wishes are pouring in for comedienne Joan Rivers, who is in a "serious" condition in New York hospital after she stopped breathing during throat surgery.
Rivers was rushed to the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City on Thursday when she suddenly stopped breathing during a routine operation to fix her vocal chords.
The 81-year-old was initially placed in a medically induced coma and was said to be in a "stable but critical" condition.
"My mother would be so touched by the tributes and prayers that we have received from around the world," her daughter Melissa said in a statement released by Mt. Sinai Hospital.
"Her condition remains serious but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery."
